Pressure transmitters
Danfoss pressure sensors
Danfoss pressure sensors (transmitters) convert the pressure of a medium into an analogue electrical signal. The MBS range covers general industrial use, hygienic applications and high-pressure measurement - always with the same emphasis on accuracy and resistance to vibration and shock.
Three groups of pressure sensors
General industrial sensors
The MBS 3000/3050 series for common industrial applications - pumps, compressors, pneumatic systems, hydraulics. Resistant to vibration, water hammer and cavitation.
Hygienic sensors
The MBS 5100/5150 and EMP 2 series with a process connection that meets easy-clean requirements - for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
High-pressure sensors
The MBS 9300 and MBS 8250 series for measuring high and very high pressures in hydraulic and demanding industrial applications.
Key pressure sensor parameters
Measuring pressure range
Choose a range so the operating pressure falls in its middle third - this ensures the highest measurement accuracy.
Signal type
A 4-20 mA current loop is more resistant to interference over longer runs, while a 0-10 V voltage output is simpler to wire for short distances.
Process and electrical
The threaded connection (G, M) must match your pipework, and the electrical connector must match your cabling.
Enclosure rating and media
IP65 enclosure rating and resistance to the given medium (water, oil, gas, ammonia) depending on the specific application.
